For many people however, the best place is the Amble Angling Centre, which provides a direct window into the world of Northumberland fishing and angling. Proprietors Tony and Norma Urwin offer not only a wealth of experience and advice but also all the gear required for saltwater and freshwater fishing in Northumberland whether for the leisure angler or seasoned professional. With patrons including both the Alnwick, and Amble, Sea Angling Clubs, the shop can also provide all the best up to date information on local catches and conditions. |
| All the best tackle manufacturers are represented in the shop, with products including reels, rods, waders, survival suits, hooks and lures. A full selection of live and frozen baits are also held in store and can be pre-ordered. Boat specialist Tony and ladies angling champion Norma have all the bases covered for giving the right advice on any products and for angling services in Northumberland. Simply come in and discuss any requirements whether for the best bait or a full set up. Low cost set ups are available including beginners set ups, ideal for the lapsed angler or for those on holiday in Northumberland and who just want to incorporate some fishing into their stay. |
| Additional services provided by the Amble Angling Centre include trout permits for the Coquet and Tyne which cost £70 standard and £50 concession. Fishing trips can be booked here too, on the 10m catamaran the Natalie Kristen. The trips, for up to 12 persons, depart from Amble for reef and wreck fishing. Reef and wreck fishing is also available on the Warlord as are mackerel trips from June to September. Full and half day charter boat trips are available. The Amble Angling Centre is open all year round, six days a week, closed on Wednesdays. |
